Bearers is set in the magical fantasy realm of the Celestial Isles, a floating archipelago upon which the Celestian people have built their civilization; a prosperous society featuring grand, magic-imbued cities.
The gifted among the Celestians are the Bearers; those chosen by one of The Eight Gods, to wield the power of their patron. Bearers are charged with the divine expectation of guarding the Isles, however, with a long-standing peace prevailing, they hone their skills by competing in the Arena.

Players can choose a Primary and Secondary profession from which to craft their playstyle. Professions offer different gameplay capabilities to fill certain roles on the battlefield, but it is up to you how you decide to play and synergise with your team.
The Fighter is the quintessential warrior; focusing on close range melee combat with weapons, and drawing enemy fire.
The Ranger strikes from distance, firing a barrage of projectiles; prepared traps inflict conditions, reduce mobility and dictate movement on the battlefield.
The Rogue uses mobility and speed to inflict spike damage, whilst looking for opportunities to create advantages through mismatches or distracted foes.
The Monk is a master of hand-to-hand combat, wielding the empty palm like a deadly weapon in close proximity; spiritual energy is harnessed from range through qi bursts for crowd control.
The Mage channels elemental energy from the environment to deal powerful magical damage; command of the natural environment can be used in many ways to create advantages.
The Psychic can delve into the mindstate of an enemy using extrasensory domination; gather information and alter perception as a means to disrupt and impair.
The Shaman harnesses Nature and Spirit magic through communion and summoning of ancestral spirits; their mystic powers provide versatile aid in battle through potent healing, protection and buffs to inflicting damage directly to foes.
The Warlock specialises in the usage of dark magics, sapping the lifeforce of the enemy, and absorbing energy from their death; sacrifices are offered as a means to punish and weaken foes.
